We often dread summers mainly because of the heat. To keep ourselves entertained we purchased season passes to Raging Waters (formerly Waterworld, where I worked as tube boy many moons ago).
One of the features at the park is called Hook’s Lagoon and features a lot of slides, bridges, climbing areas, water guns, etc; all the while being showered by water from above and below. The first 5 minutes I spent holding the kids hands tightly while I tried to dodge ever drop of water as it was FREEZING cold water. The kids of course didn’t seem to mind and were getting frustrated with me as I wasn’t letting them run in and play with everything. I finally caved it, got wet, and we had a lot of fun. Eventually we decided to let the kids try the “lazy river” which was always my favorite. You just lay in an innertube and float along the “river” which really is just a large circle throughout the park itself. The kids LOVED it more than Hook’s Lagoon which surprised me. Nevertheless, we will be returning here often this summer and the season tickets were a great idea.
When we aren’t at Raging Water’s, we can usually be found swimming in my parents pool for a few hours a day. Last summer Tyler enjoyed swimming and we were looking forward to this summer hoping that he would finally learn how to swim. Well he’s swimming! We took off the life jacket and he’s a swimmer – even though all you see is his head above the water, if you look under the water you’ll see him doggy paddling like no other. Eventually he’ll be spear fishing in the depths of the ocean with his Uncle Brett.
$100.00ish on a trampoline from wall-mart is the best sleeping pill EVER! Last night both Kaitlyn and Tyler slept better than ever! I got 7 hours of undisturbed sleep, it felt amazing! The kids didn’t even wake me up, I woke up worried about them because they didn’t wake me up so I had to get up and check on them. I got to go back to bed for a few more hours. So, basically I am thankful for our trampoline!! Funny Tyler quote, he said this to me the day we got it! Thank you mom for buying me dis! I thought this was so great because I know he says thanks a lot but this time I knew that he meant it!
Oh boy what a day! Well, not everyday you have to deal with a man that past away in his apartment! Very sad!
So… you are probably wondering what happened to day 19? Well, I went to put Kaitlyn to bed and I fell asleep on her floor! hahah Tyler said something funny to me yesterday when he was very mad. I will start off by telling you that sometimes when Tyler is not behaving I tell him that I will through his toy in the trash…Okay so I actually have done it (he had a foam sword and he kept hitting me and Kaitlyn with it and I told him that if he hit me again i would trash it….and he did no sooner than the last word of my sentence came out of my mouth). So, back to my story….we were driving and he was mad and through his shoe at me and said that he was going to give me to the trash can man!!!! hahahah I guess this is better that the other day when he told me he was going to put me in the trash. I told him that I was too big and I wouldn’t fit, but he could try. He looked at me and said that he could use the scissors to make me smaller then put me in the trash can. Hummmm where did I go wrong? Why is he obsessed with the the trash can man? I get the whole fire truck, police car, train, and tractor thing????
